Insulating coffee mug
Consumer
Project to design and develop an insulating mug to dispense coffee into a smaller cup. Started by generating a range of concepts. One of these was then chosen and developed into a full working design using an iterative process. Manufacturing files were then created, photorealistic renders were generated and packaging designs were made.
EV battery module machine
Industrial
University project as part of a team of four, to design a machine to assemble electric vehicle battery modules. We generated multiple concepts before settling on a mixture of a couple concepts. This was then developed into a full working design using computer aided design (CAD) software. Photorealistic renders were created for illustration.
Low cost wind turbine
Consumer
University project as part of a group of three, to develop a low cost wind turbine that could be rapidly deployed to refugee camps and other places in need of quick, low cost power generation. The turbines nacelle was provided as a 'black box' and our job was to decide on rotor material and create a low cost and easily transportable frame and platform.
Grasping system for robot
Industrial
Contest submission for aerospace company Airbus. The aim was to design and develop a grasping system that would be attached to a 3 axis robot used to sort components. The submission required six components. A functional description, a system layout, design drawings, a software description, a cost estimation and a maintenance projection.
Ring materials display
Consumer
The client for this project manufactures and sells rings made of interesting and unique materials. They needed a short animation showcasing some of the materials they use. Using Blender, I created 10 different realistic metals including titanium damascus, black zirconium and tungsten. I then setup textures and lighting before rendering a high quality animation.
Herb grinder design
Consumer
Project to redesign a clients existing herb grinder design. The required aesthetic was a metallic black with silver trim as can be seen in each design. Four designs were presented in total each shown by two renders (closed and exploded view). The main feature to change in each design was the grip on the outside edges of the device. All other main parts were kept the same.
Camera housing
Consumer
Project to design wall mounted housing for a camera module, its PCB and associated electronics.
