Concept generation

Often the first stage when designing a new product. Generating concepts allows for a range of designs to be explored relatively quickly. Once a concept is selected it can then be further developed into a working design.

Insulating coffee mug

Consumer

Project to design and develop an insulating mug to dispense coffee into a smaller cup. Started by generating a range of concepts. One of these was then chosen and developed into a full working design using an iterative process. Manufacturing files were then created, photorealistic renders were generated and packaging designs were made.

EV battery module machine

Industrial

University project as part of a team of four, to design a machine to assemble electric vehicle battery modules. We generated multiple concepts before settling on a mixture of a couple concepts. This was then developed into a full working design using computer aided design (CAD) software. Photorealistic renders were created for illustration.

Low cost wind turbine

Consumer

University project as part of a group of three, to develop a low cost wind turbine that could be rapidly deployed to refugee camps and other places in need of quick, low cost power generation. The turbines nacelle was provided as a 'black box' and our job was to decide on rotor material and create a low cost and easily transportable frame and platform.
